Coronavirus: Ronaldo converts hotels to hospitals, to treat patients free

Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to show the world his human side by reportedly transforming his world-class hotels into hospitals in order for coronavirus infected parsons in Portugal to be treated.

According to sources, the Juventus player will sponsor the cost of the Coronavirus treatments and also pay the medical Doctors and other health professionals that will be handling the job.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will transform his chain of hotels into hospitals where the Coronavirus infected patients in Portugal will be able to be treated completely free of charge,” the source said on Sunday.

“CR7 will also cover the salaries of all the doctors and workers. Incredible gesture, what a man,” the source added. However, Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent is yet to respond to confirmation messages sent to him by our correspondent.

One hundred and sixty-nine (169) persons have been infected by Coronavorus in Portugal as at March 15, 2020. Nevertheless, no death has been recorded in the country, although 10 persons from the 169 are in critical state.

The Coronavirus outbreak which started in late November 2019, has disrupted economic activities all over the world. Many nations are battling the virus with lean resources.

Portugal with a population of 10.31 million ‎(2017) has a Gross Domestic Product of 217.6 billion USD (2017), according to the World Bank. Hence, allowing Coronavirus to spread may have serious adverse effects on the economy.
